The Sema, a dance-like ritual, has been performed for centuries by the Dervishes, followers of the thirteenth-century spiritual leader Mevlâna Celâleddîn-i Rûmî. It is not a show but a form of worship: the turning symbolises the soul's journey towards truth. The ceremony is held in a cave hall and lasts about an hour.
